La fotografía es una poderosa herramienta para comunicar mensajes. Utiliza un lenguaje universal, directo y rápido, que la mayoría de las personas sabe interpretar y comprender sin importar su origen. Conecta con nuestras emociones y eso la convierte en un potente motor para la movilización.
Una buena fotografía, para mí, es como un flechazo. No sabes qué es, no es perfecta, no te conviene y a tus padres no les va a gustar, pero a ti te ha enamorado nada más verla. Otras veces es como un Adonis, de una belleza abrumadora que no puedes dejar de mirar. Y luego está la que te engancha porque te emociona tanto que te corta la respiración, no te la quitas de la cabeza y cuando la recuerdas, vuelves a sentir ese sobrecogimiento.

Photography is a powerful tool for communicating messages. It uses a universal, direct and fast language that most people can interpret and understand regardless of their origin. It connects with our emotions, making it a powerful engine for mobilisation.
A good photograph, for me, is like a crush. You don't know what it is, it's not perfect, it doesn't suit you, and your parents won't like it, but you've fallen in love as soon as you see it. Other times, she's like an Adonis, overwhelmingly beautiful, and you can't take your eyes off her. And then there's the one that gets you hooked because it moves you so much that it takes your breath away, you can't get it out of your head, and when you remember it, you feel that awe again.
Las Habitantes es un viaje vital simultáneo de ellas en diferentes puntos del mundo: Colombia, India, Madagascar… El planeta interpretado como espacio único y sin fronteras, una casa común para todas las personas.
Protagonistas que invitan a mi mirada a bucear en su intimidad, que dibuja con sus fotografías una travesía de historias de un desarrollo colectivo en femenino. Todas ellas navegan su presente contracorriente. Se enfrentan al doble desafío, el de ser niñas y el de ser mujeres, en países donde los derechos de la mujer son cuestionados con demasiada frecuencia. Las imágenes caminan por el mapa, personal y universal, que traza cada una de ellas hacia la vida adulta: momentos de introspección, educación, juego, pertenencia a la comunidad, ilusiones… Niñas que dejan de ser anónimas para mirarnos e interpelar a la reflexión a quienes las observamos.
Las Habitantes, se asoma a las ventanas de realidades complejas dejando la puerta abierta hacia un futuro donde las mujeres, sin importar su punto de partida, tienen cada vez más fuerza y protagonismo, que luchan por habitar su merecido lugar en la sociedad y en el planeta.

Las Habitantes is a simultaneous vital journey of them in different parts of the world: Colombia, India, Madagascar... The planet is interpreted as a single space without borders, a common home for everyone.
Protagonists who invite my gaze to dive into their intimacy, who draw with their photographs a journey of stories of a collective female development. All of them navigate their present against the current. They face the double challenge of being girls and women in countries where women's rights are all too often questioned. The pictures follow the personal and universal map that each traces towards adulthood: moments of introspection, education, play, belonging to the community, illusions... Girls who cease to be anonymous look at us and challenge those who observe them to reflect.
Las Habitantes looks out of the windows of complex realities, leaving the door open to a future where women, regardless of their starting point, have ever more strength and prominence, struggling to inhabit their deserved place in society and on the planet.
